June 8, 2007 - Railroad update

The repair of the Climax tender were completed.  The repainted and relettered tender looks great.  The excursion cars are next to get fresh paint.   The weather has been ugly but better weather is coming.

Nov 27, 2006 - Railroad update

There will be track reconstruction this Fall between the switch near the water tank and the crossing. It will consist of new ties and surfacing.

Work was completed on one of the Cummins diesel engines on locomotive 1943. Two brothers from Maine who specialize in Cummins diesels repairs fine tuned the pre-owned truck engine that had been installed when the locomotive first arrived on the property. Dave Clark reports that the engine now works fine and no longer exhausts black smoke.

The Climax will enter the shops this Fall for some work that was not accomplished prior to the locomotive entering service this past summer. In addition some fine tuning will be done, and it should be ready prior to the 2007 operating season.
